Grapevine Citizen's Fire Academy Alumni hosted the 2008 Texas Citizen's Fire Academy Alumni Association's Annual Chief' Forum. This years event was held at City Hall. The GCFAA Hospitality team prepared a wonderful array of breakfast treats along with an assortment of beverages. The Honorable Mayor Tate attended and made the opening remarks and spoke briefly about the history and evolution of the fire service in the City of Grapevine. The event was attended by over 75 people, including Fire Chiefs from 11 cities.
The GCFAA along with members from the Grapevine Fire Department's Pipe & Drum Corp worked a fund raiser at McDonald's this evening. The GCFAA also had the R561 Rehab Unit on scene as well as several on-duty companies rotated through displaying their apparatus.

The Grapevine Fire Department held their Firehouse Pancake Breakfast with Santa again this year. It was held at Station #1 on December 1st from 6:30AM to 10:30AM. GCFAA members provided support, set-up, and tear down, on the food line and cleaning tables.
The GCFAA decorated a trailer for the membership to ride on in this years Christmas Parade. The trailer followed the R561 Rehab Truck. Carl Trehus operated "Freddie the Fire Engine" down Main Street wishing all the children a Merry Christmas.
The GCFAA provided assistance to the Grapevine Fire Department by operating "Freddie the Fire Engine" down Main Street and handing out information and freebies at the Butterfly Flutterby event in downtown Grapevine this year.

The 4th Annual Fire Fighters BBQ has come to completion. The BBQ is a great event which allows the Fire Fighters and Alumni to socialize and enjoy a great meal. Thanks to all the Alumni that showed up and provided sides for the meals! Pictures from the BBQ are now available.
GCFA Class #9 took place from March 1, 2007 through May 31, 2007. Keep your eyes open for Class #10 which should be offered in the Spring of 2008. Selective pictures from Class #9 can be found here.
The GCFAA worked the Coke Booth at Main Street Days again this year. This is one of our main fund raising events.

Care Caravan is an annual safety education presented by the Grapevine Fire Department on Public Safety. GCFAA members provided assistance handing out information at the Fire Department's booth, running the Fire Safety House and providing information on the function of the GCFAA Rehab Team. Care Flite made another great appearance with one of their helicopters and we were also joined by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Pictures from the event are now available online.
The GCFAA provided assistance at a TaeKwonDo Tournament held at the Grapevine Community Center. This is another fund raising event worked by the GCFAA to support our organization.

The GCFAA assisted the Grapevine Fire Department with running the Fire Safety House at Sam's Club today. The Fire Safety House is a wonderful tool for teaching young children about fire prevention.

The GCFAA assisted GFD with running the Fire Safety House at The Children's Courtyard. The house operated from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The GCFAA and A-Shift, along with a few members from C-Shift from the Grapevine Fire Department worked a fundraiser at McDonald's on Tuesday evening. Engine 561 was present courtesy of the Grapevine FD. The GCFAA also had the R561 Rehab Unit on scene. The
fundraiser was a great joint effort and everyone had fun!
The Grapevine Firefighters' Foundation will be hosting their pancake Breakfast with Santa at Station 1 this coming Saturday morning, December 10th, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Santa will be arriving, by helicopter for the breakfast.
